Denitza’s artistic education began at the HKU Utrecht School Of Visual Art in the Netherlands and continued at the SVA School of Visual Art in New York. While in art school, Denitza developed her unique and recognizable painting style.
Combining layers of raised glossy black lines, solid shapes, and colors, Denitza’s art creates captivating scenes in 3D texture. Her paintings explore natural landscapes and environments co-existing with man-made urban habitats such as cities. Buildings in nature are often perceived as contradictory but Denitza’s art envisions nature and man intertwined equally in harmony.
Although her paintings remind of familiar places they are all imaginary. Her paintings aim to exist outside of a specific time or place, inviting viewers to project their own narratives and interpretations. The work strives to create a rich, colorful atmosphere with strong emotional resonance.
Her meticulous use of gloss paint also makes the viewing experience more immersive. It creates reflections on the canvas, capturing light and shadows and making the viewer and their surroundings part of the viewing experience.
Denitza’s paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States, Europe, the UK and China and held in many private collections.
